Institutional Change
From 1 January 2027, Emeris and Rosebank International will operate as separately registered private higher education institutions in their own right.
This marks an exciting milestone as they transition from educational brands of The IIE to institutions with their own academic identity, building on The IIE’s established commitment to quality, academic excellence and supporting students’ ambitions.
Students registered for the 2026 academic year
Current IIE students will complete the 2026 academic year under The IIE. The Class of 2026, graduating in 2027, will be the final cohort to graduate with qualifications certified in the name of The IIE. The student support teams at Emeris or Rosebank International, as applicable, will coordinate your graduation ceremony and the confirmation of your qualification.
Students registering for the 2027 academic year
New and returning students will register with either Emeris or Rosebank International. All 2026 and prior student administrative information and academic records will be held at the corresponding institution. Students completing their qualification in 2027 and onwards will graduate under the name of Emeris or Rosebank International, as applicable.
IIE alumni
It is important to note that qualifications completed under The IIE remain valid and recognised. The SAQA ID’s for IIE qualifications remain unchanged and will continue to be listed on the SAQA website. The DHET register will indicate that the name of The IIE has changed to Emeris and that Rosebank International has been separately registered. For academic records, qualification verification or certificate reprint requests, please contact the relevant institution.
