Associations and Endorsements


The British Accreditation Council (BAC)


The Independent Institute of Education is also internationally accredited. This important achievement demonstrates to our students and staff that our standards are indeed world class and ensures that students can be confident about the value of their qualifications. The British Accreditation Council is an independent authority in the UK that accredits private providers in the UK and in other countries such as Greece, Switzerland,  Singapore, India, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates.

South African Private Higher Education (SAPHE)


Since its inception, SAPHE has provided South Africa’s leading private higher education institutions a platform to address common needs and promote shared interests, while fostering a level and conducive operating environment for higher education to thrive. The association consists of voluntary members with a shared goal and purpose - to promote the role, reputation and interests of the country’s private higher education providers and shine a spotlight on the impact that these institutions have on South Africa’s broader education landscape.


SAPHE aims to provide a strong, focused, and coordinated voice, speaking to the interests of Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) and their position with regard to South Africa’s legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks; frameworks that promote the development of a robust and resilient private higher education sector in the country and globally.


South African Business School Association (SABSA)


SABSA aims to do two things. The first is to strengthen ties with the business fraternity and the education sector as a whole. The second is to improve the recognition of the organisation as a representative of SA business schools with government and regulatory bodies. SABSA’s twenty-two-member business schools offer MBA or MBL programmes accredited by the South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) and are spread geographically around South Africa (many with satellite offices in major centres) offering full-time, part-time, modular or executive MBA and MBL programmes. 


National Association of Distance Education and Open Learning in South Africa (NADEOSA)


The overarching aim of this Association is to provide a forum for South African organisations and individuals who are committed to increasing access to an affordable, cost-effective and quality learning environment in which learners are empowered to become self-sufficient members of society.


Golden Key International Honor Society


Golden Key International Honour Society is the world's largest collegiate honour society for graduate and undergraduate students, and has strong relationships with over 400 universities around the world. Golden Key is built on the pillars of academics, leadership, and service, and their chapters are committed to implementing service projects and leadership development for all students on their campus. Members qualify when they are at the top 15% of their class, and are given access to a wide range of rewards, scholarships, travel and study abroad opportunities, and more. 


South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)


The IIE Bachelor of Accounting degree is accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) as an undergraduate degree to prepare students for the Chartered Accountant Qualification.


The IIE Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting provides the knowledge and skills required within the fields of Auditing, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management and Taxation, that affords a successful student admission to the South African Institute of Chartered Accountant’s Initial Test of Competence (ITC) examination.


Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)


The IIE Engineering qualifications, namely the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, the Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and the Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, are endorsed by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
